Central Library

Central Library

The library of the institute has played a critical role in the teaching and research. It is established in 1983 and expanded into an exclusive five-storied building. The library has excellent facilities catering to the academic and research needs of students, researchers and faculty members. It houses periodical section, computer center, reading hall, reference section, audio-video hall, and language lab. It contains 74,218 books and 20,228 volumes and digital library facility. Digital library of institute with 54,686 number of journals in e-form is one of the richest sources of knowledge for students and faculty members.

Library has 2500 square meters of pleasant environment comprising Stacking Room, Computer Centre, Periodical Section, Language Lab, Audio Visual Room, Digital Library, Reference Section,  and Reading Halls.

    ASME promotes the art, science & practice of multidisciplinary engineering & allied sciences around the globe. Under ASME, 33 E Journals and Backfile access (since 2000) for Mechanical Engineering are available at library.

    The ASCE leading provider of technical and professional conferences and continuing education, in the field of civil engineering. Under ASCE, 35 E Journals and Backfile access (since 1983) for Civil Engineering are available at library.

  • JST- J-Gate Science and Technology

J-Gate is an electronic gateway to global e-journal literature. Launched in 2001 by Informatics India Limited, J-Gate provides seamless access to millions of journal articles available online offered by 13,243 Publishers. Under J gate, 34,778 Scholarly research journals and free access journals for Basic Science, Engineering &Technology, Agricultural and Bio logical Science, Arts and Humanities, Bio medical science and Social and Management Science are available at library. 19,500 Scholarly research journals are available for access.

  • DELNET (Developing Library Network)
    The prime objective of DELNET is to promote resource sharing among the libraries through the development of a network of libraries. It aims to collect, store, and disseminate information besides offering computerized services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and to reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible. Under DELNET, 3, 65,45, 350 Union Catalog of books & periodicals, database of article, thesis, desertion & CD ROM, Union list of sound & video recording are available for Science and Engineering.

  • D Space:
    DSpace is a digital service that collects, preserves, and distributes digital material. Users can see digitized books, question papers and important documents like thesis on D Space. D space provides facility of creating communities, collection and items which represents department, subject and exact title. This helps users in searching article/documents very quickly. The digital contents can also be searched based on keywords. Under D space, presently 708 Digitized books, question papers since 2011-12 and other documents are available for Engineering & Technology.

The ACM Digital Library (DL) is the world’s most comprehensive database of full-text articles and bibliographic literature covering computing and information technology.  This renowned repository includes the complete collection of ACM publications plus an extended bibliographic database of core works in computing from scholarly publishers.

LIBRARY RULES

GENERAL RULES

· All library users must sign in the library register.

· User should maintain peace in the library and should not disturb other readers in the library . use of mobile phone is strictly prohibited in the library permises

· While enttering the library user should leave his/her personal belongings such as bags personal books etc . at the counter reserved for this purpose.

· The librarian may suspend library service of a student member for one month, if he/she misbehaves with the library staff .

· User of the library should not deface, mark, cut or damage the reading materials in any way persons doing so are liable to be fined heavily,apart from being asked to pay the cost of the damage.

CIRCULATION RULES

· Books may be borrowed only against the library card issued to an individual.

· Two library books will be issued to each UG/PG student.

· Five library books will be issued to each full time research scholar/faculty members.

· For students, books can be issued for a limited period of 15 days, failing which an overdue charge Rs.1 per book per day must be paid.

· For full time research scholars/faculty members, books can be issued for a period of one semester, failing which an overdue charge Rs.2 per book per day must be paid.

· No books in damaged condition will be accepted from the users on return Damaged books will have to be replaced by the borrower.

· In case of loss of books by borrower, the borrower is required either to replace the books by a recent edition, if available or pay the double of the current cost of the book.

· Newspapers, periodicals, journals and reference books are available for use within library and will not be issued from the library.

· Student’s library borrower cards renewal must be done before August 31st every year, failing which, fine of RS.500 will be charged per year.

· Duplicate borrower’s card will be issued by charging Rs.100/card.

· Full time research scholars must take no due certificate from library before final thesis submissions at R&D

 If you login first time and You haven’t updated date of birth in NDLI website,

Then go to NDLI website and update DOB.

Once your DOB is updated in NDLI website, go back to the club application and under

Your profile details, click on “Sync with NDLI profile” button to update your DOB in Club website.                                                                                                        

 

*Step 4* : 

After login successfully, click on the “Event” button on the menu and

you will be able to find all published event for you institute. Click on the event name to view

Details.                                                                                                                                                                 

 

*Step 5* :

 If event is published for you institute, click on the “Check Eligibility” button on top right side, if you are eligible to take part in this event you will asked to click on “Participate” button at same place.

After this your participation request will be approved for this event.
