Institution’s Innovation Council

Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are in formative years.

MIC has envisioned encouraging creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses. It is our proud privilege to announce that Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) College of  Engineering, Pune has been selected to establish the council in 2018.

The IIC council of BV(DU)COE, Pune has continued their efforts to establish and inculcate a culture of Innovation and Entrepreneurship among the students and faculty members of the college by bridging the gap by establishing a connection between the real-world Entrepreneurs and Innovators and students at the college.

Council Structure:

The council is further subdivided into various cells focusing on the specific area for better coordination and focus on conducting various kinds of events and workshops throughout the year. The cells under the IIC are:

Innovation Cell- Primary responsible for organising and coordinating after Innovation promotion activities and extend support to other activities.

Start-up Cell- Primary responsible for organising and coordinating after Start-up promotion activities and extend support to other activities.

Internship Cell- Primary responsible for organising and coordinating after Internship opportunity and engage student in Start-ups, innovation labs and incubation centre etc. to promote innovation activities and extend support to other activities.

IPR Cell- Primary responsible for organising and coordinating after IPR mentoring, awareness opportunity to promote innovation activities and extend support to other activities.

Social Media Cell- Primary responsible for organising and coordinating after social media promotion and public relation and effectively communicating regarding various activities undertaken to promote innovation activities and extend support to other activities.

Objective of the Cell:

  • To nurture and promote Innovation within the Institute.
  • To develop a culture of Innovation and Research within the students and faculty of the institute.
  • To provide accessibility and support with the profound innovators and entrepreneurs to help and support the innovators of the campus.
  • Conduct activities which bridge the knowledge gap of the Interested students and faculty on campus and support them in every possible aspect.
  • To organise field visits to research parks and incubation centres to promote enthusiasm and inspire the students.
  • Provide assistance at every possible level to the concerned students and faculty members
  • To spread awareness and inform the students and faculty about the various schemes of the GoI and MoE for the research work and grants, and help to awail those grants.

Objective of the Cell:

  • To nurture entrepreneurial culture at campus.
  • To develop start up ecosystem by establishing collaboration among academia, Alumni start up founder, financial institutions, industries, and other institutes.
  • To provide support to develop technology/service based innovation.
  • To undertake initiatives to increase access to angel investors, venture capitalists and business incubators.

Objective of the Cell:

  1. To develop, coordinate & supervise complex and varied administrative tasks in order to provide exemplary training services to the students.
  2. Internship development and coordination, and employer relations with the aim to facilitate training & placement
  3. To conduct two activities each semester for promoting & creation of various internships across the premises of institute.
  4. Publicity/report making of each event.

Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), College of Engineering, Pune has an active IIC council, an initiative by MHRD, Government of India.  IPR Cell is establish under the ambit of IIC with a motive to create awareness and provide guidance to students, scholars.  To encourage research and innovation, this Cell organizes Webinars, Workshops for the undergraduate, post graduate, Ph.D scholars and faculty members of our institute as well as other institutes,  thereby creating and environment to generate new knowledge. 

Objectives:

  1. To create awareness among students, research scholars and faculty members about various forms of IPRs.
  2. Creating and environment to generate new knowledge.

IPR cell intends to carry out various activities such as organizing special lectures & seminars, Patent, Drafting, Patent Filing, Prior Art search, IPR Quiz, and celebration of World Intellectual Property Day (26th April).
